STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old Testament and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, inerrant, infallible, immutable, and it is the supreme and the only final authority of faith and practice. We believe that God has kept the promise by preserving His infallible Word in the traditional Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. We also believe that the Word of God, translated in different languages and dialects, shares the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are also aware that there are heretical versions that deviate from the original manuscript and should be challenged and not be used by the Church.
Matthew 24:35, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:23, 2 Peter 1:19-21
2. THE PERSON OF GOD
We believe God is supreme in His person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection. We believe in the Trinity. This is to say that in the unity of Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each distinct person is equal in every divine perfection and each executes distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19, John 14:16, 2 Corinthians 14:14
3. THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His deity and sinless life, His vicarious death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His personal pre-tribulation, premillennial return for His church.
John 1:1-14, Matthew 28:18, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Acts 2:24, 1 Timothy 4:14-18
4. THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the executive of the Godhead. We believe that he executes the plan of God for our conviction and salvation. All believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him.
John 14:26, Ephesians 4:30, Acts 5:3-4, Galatians 4:6, Ephesians 5:18, John 16:12-15, Romans 8:14
5. CREATION
We believe in God’s direct creation of the universe without the use of pre-existent material and apart from any process of evolution whatsoever, as according to the Genesis account.
Genesis 1:1-31, Exodus 20:11, Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 11:3
6. THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created in the image of God and by choice fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under the condemnation of eternal judgment.
Genesis 3, Romans 5:12, 2:9-20, 3:22-23, 6:23
However, we believe that the blessings of salvation are made free by the Gospel, that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:13, John 1:12
7. SALVATION THROUGH GRACE
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, and that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Doing works or joining a religious affiliation will not save man.
Acts 4:12, Romans 4:1-5, John 3:16, John 14:6, Ephesians 2:8-9
8. THE SECURITY OF BELIEVERS
We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ: as a result, we have assurance in our salvation.
John 10:28-30, Romans 8:38-39, 1 Peter 1:1-3
9. THE CHURCH
We believe that the visible church is a congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament principles, believing its doctrines, observing its ordinances and exercising its autonomy.
Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 5:4-5, 6:1-5; Matthew 8:15-17, Ephesians 4:1-16
10. THE GREAT COMMISSION
We believe that every Christian has a task to fulfill the Great Commission to preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
Matthew 28:18-20
11. WATER BAPTISM
We believe that baptism by immersion should be administered to believers only as a symbol of their belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and as a testimony to the world of their personal faith in their identification with the work of Christ for salvation.
Matthew 28:19, John 4:1-3, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:35-28
12. THE LORD’S SUPPER
We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be partaken of by believers only to show forth the death of Jesus Christ till He returns to earth.
Romans 6:1-8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
13. HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in hell and the lake of fire.
Philippians 1:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Luke 16:19-26, Revelation 20:13-15
14. THE SECOND COMING
We believe that Jesus Christ is risen, seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the saints and is coming again. The second coming will take place in two phases: 1) Rapture of the Church, which could occur any time, where the saints are caught up to meet Christ in the clouds. Then, following the seven year Tribulation Period, the (2) Revelation of Christ will occur when Christ returns to the earth to judge the nations and set up His Millennial Kingdom.
We believe that people who accepted Jesus and are saved will be raptured before the Tribulation Period begins. Rapture is an event where all who have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, living and deceased, will suddenly be caught up from earth, be joined with Christ in the air, and taken into heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:52-53, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-10, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Mark 13:26
15. THE ENEMY
We believe that Satan is an actual person and an angelic being, who through pride, ambition and self-will, attempted to rise above the authority of God. He lost his position of purity to become the arch enemy of God and God’s people.
In this age, he is the “god of this world” and the “prince of the power of air”. He is the “father of all lies”, the tempter and accuser of the saints. He will be put into the bottomless pit during the thousand year reign of Christ, released to lead rebellion at the close of that reign, and cast into the lake of fire after the thousand year reign of Christ.
Job 1-2, John 10:10, Isaiah 14:12-17, Revelation 12:10
16. MARRIAGE
We believe that marriage is only a union between man and woman. Our Pastors are not authorized to marry same-sex partners as this violates the will of God.
Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:9, Ephesians 5:25-33
